MUSIC: ITALIAN FEDERATION FIMI APPROVES NAPLES’ CHOICE

The Campania capital adheres to the IFPI’s Music Cities project

FIMI enthusiastically welcomes the participation of the city of Naples in the international program of Music Cities promoted by IFPI, the organization that represents the recording industry in the world. This was announced by the Naples Municipality, which recognizes music as "a strategic asset for the socio-economic and cultural development of the city": for this reason it has established the Music Office, opening up to sector initiatives and contributing operationally to the growth of the sector.

"Music is an intergenerational bridge that promotes social inclusion and produces new job opportunities, as well as stimulating tourism, creating a significant economic impact for the structure of a composite city like the Campania capital: we are therefore pleased with the project embraced by the city of Naples, the real cultural capital of the Italian South, who’s working on concrete projects” says Enzo Mazza, FIMI CEO.

"Naples as a Music city, thanks to the active support of the Italian music industry - starting from the FIMI and many other friends with whom we are signing agreements - for the first time has a real music office that will have the function of direct interface between the sector and the administration and over time it will become more and more a point of reference for operators in the music sector and a development tool for the Music City project that goes from strengthening the business lines related to music, to training and audience development, internationalization, attention to young people, inclusion and the suburbs "says the lawyer Ferdinando Tozzi, Mayor's adviser on the music and audiovisual industry and promoter of the new Neapolitan office.
